Why does Emmanuel Lwasa prefer serial marriages to casual dating?

Businessman Emmanuel Lwasa was over the weekend hit by a shocker when the family of his fiancée canceled his visit to her home.

Lwasa, who had for the past two months been boasting about a new girlfriend he intended to wed on October 29, had bought a lot of items to take on the visit.

Until last week, the loudmouthed tycoon had kept the girlfriend's identity close to his chest. The public came to know she’s called Vanessa just last week when pictures of their photoshoot flooded social media.

People were quick to note that Vanessa had been a fun girl and had dated some celebrities, including musicians Ziza Bafana and John Blaq.

In media interviews, Bafana didn't have good words about her. “She is a gold digger. She runs after money. Lwasa has a lot, that is how he fell into her traps,” he said.

Lwasa, known for his boisterous and brazen personality, didn't take the hint.

He wired her money to refurbish her parent's house and then some to organise the function.

On his end, Lwasa talked to his relatives to prepare for the function. He even invited journalists to accompany him on the visit.

It was on Sunday that the drama emerged, thanks to the journalists who filmed what was going on.

Despite receiving a phone call from Vanessa herself and other relatives, Lwasa seemed unconvinced and insisted on going on with the fête. It wasn't until the people that he had invited, including his Best Man assured him they won't be joining him on the journey of embarrassment, that he was left with no choice.

But with Lwasa nothing goes to waste and he's already churning out fodder for gossip TV shows and blogs.

"She outsmarted me," he told journalists, adding that despite the challenges, he is now going to ramp up the search.

Lwasa, in spite of the circus, insists on marriage yet he seems to want the type that is still into party life or is on the journey of self-discovery.

In one of the interviews, the conversation went like this:

Interviewer: "What do you want from women?”

Lwasa: "I'm not looking for one to help me develop financially. I'm looking for one to spoil without giving me anything."

Interviewer: "Why not stop dating?"

Lwasa: "Can you stop wanting to be around women? Can you?"

Interviewer: "Aren't you embarrassed?"

Lwasa: "But this is the age I should be doing that!"

Lwasa, 52, who has a wife at his upcountry home, has said he always wants to be with two wives.

One for the village and another to hang out with in town.

Blogger Wisdom Kaye, one of Lwasa's biggest critics, said that Lwasa prefers marriage to serial dating because it is a cheaper option. Kaye believes by marrying a woman, Lwasa spends less than he would if he was constantly dating.

So, he believes, it works for him to marry for a short while and move on when he gets bored.

The businessman recently revealed that he can no longer date a woman who wants to be with him for more than five years.

Before dating Vanessa, Lwasa dated Angel Kwakunda and the relationship didn't even last a year despite her announcing at their introduction in 2021 that she would give the chubby businessman 12 children.

Lwasa has said she belongs to the streets.

"I made a mistake marrying her... Angel is like Vanessa. She is a street girl," he said.

Lwasa has recently been seen hanging out with Lwasa. Before Kwakunda, Lwasa dated TV personality Dianah Nabatanzi for about five years. He had left Desire Luzinda to date Nabatanzi.

His relationships already end dramatically because he usually despises his girlfriends in media interviews and they are good at returning such compliments.
