Mastercard Foundation launches inspiring new podcast ‘Transcending Boundaries’

The Mastercard Foundation has unveiled its new podcast, Transcending Boundaries – Conversations with Reeta Roy, This thought-provoking series is designed to challenge, motivate, and inspire the next generation of leaders to act with purpose and courage. 

Hosted by Reeta Roy, the President and CEO of the Mastercard Foundation, the podcast brings together remarkable international leaders from various fields, including former heads of state, human rights advocates, and social innovators.

The series delves deep into the leadership journeys of these extraordinary individuals, sharing their experiences, struggles, and the influential moments that shaped their path. 

Through these compelling conversations, listeners are invited to learn from the leaders who have changed the course of history and gained valuable insights into what it means to lead with vision and integrity.

Reeta Roy, who leads the Mastercard Foundation, believes that the key to impactful leadership is rooted in listening. Reflecting on her own leadership experiences, she says:

In my life as a leader, I have learned it is vital to begin a conversation by listening. Through the conversations in Transcending Boundaries, we offer a rare opportunity to learn from people who have changed the course of their own lives and the world. Understanding the formative years that shaped the lives, and the journeys, of these extraordinary leaders is a source of wisdom and encouragement. We all have the capacity to be leaders and to make a difference.

The first episode of the podcast features a highly anticipated conversation with former President of Liberia and Nobel Laureate, Ellen Johnson Sirleaf. 

Known for her trailblazing work in governance and women’s rights, President Sirleaf shares the experiences that shaped her vision and values, as well as the mentors who guided her throughout her leadership journey.

Transcending Boundaries will air its first episode on March 10, 2025, and will consist of eight weekly episodes. 

Each episode will feature distinguished guests who have made profound impacts in their respective fields, such as Louise Arbour, former UN High Commissioner for Human Rights and Chief Prosecutor for the International Criminal Tribunals, and former Irish President, Mary Robinson.

Listeners can expect to hear deeply insightful conversations on leadership, values, and transformation, all relevant to today’s world. The series will be available on popular podcast platforms, including Apple Podcasts, Spotify, and YouTube, as well as on the Mastercard Foundation's website.
