Tusker Malt Conversessions remains the ago-to stage for raw, unfiltered artistry.
On March 2, Ugandan girl group Blu 3 took the spotlight, opening up about their past, their breakup, and their journey to healing.
The biggest revelation of the night was the pain behind their split.
Jackie Chandiru admitted that the lack of a fight to stay together hurt the most.
“It was never about the words said to each other; my issue was the disintegration. We didn’t fight to stay together. I had expected so much from the group—I expected us to take over the entire world,” she said.

Cindy Sanyu confessed that, at one point, she believed rumours that the group and its management were working against her solo career.
“I had a lot of anger, and I believed it. But after a couple of years, I was like, no, these girls are like my sisters.”
Lilian Mbabazi was quick to reassure Cindy, saying, “Just to reassure you, we did not have that plot.”
Despite the painful past, Blu 3’s recent reunion concert has rekindled their bond. They acknowledged that while some wounds may take time to heal, they are committed to rebuilding their friendship.

More excitingly, they confirmed they are back in the studio. “We’ve already recorded our single ‘Guma,’ but we want to put out an EP,” Lilian revealed.
Reflecting on life after the split, Jackie admitted she was scared and even jealous when Cindy left.
“I became scared, that’s the truth. I was used to having backup on stage. Also, I got to a point where I didn’t have people to talk to. I was jealous, period. On a scale of 1-100, I was 65% angry.”
The conversation also touched on regrets. Cindy was clear that she had none.
“Everything that has happened has led us to where we are now, and somehow, it’s all worth it. If I didn’t get out of Blu 3, this part of me would never come out.”

Lilian added, “Looking back doesn’t help. Even Lot’s wife looked back and turned into salt. However, we learn from the consequences of what we did.”
Jackie agreed, saying, “What is better now is peace, kindness, communication, and that’s where I stand always.”
Beyond the emotional confessions, Tusker Malt Conversessions reaffirmed its commitment to celebrating real artistry.
Elizabeth Mutamuliza, Head of Beer at UBL, said, “As a brand that champions craftsmanship, excellence, and the finest talent, Tusker Malt is proud to celebrate the stories behind the artists. Blu 3’s journey is one we are proud to have delivered to fans.”
