The 71st Miss World contest is set for December, 2023 in the United Arab Emirates.
Ms Karema says however, that she doesn't feel prepared enough for the pageant.
The busy schedule in her Miss Uganda office has not helped in her preparations, while the public backlash that followed her crowning in March, have also dimmed her morale a little bit.
“At this point I need all the support I can get, because when you get to a point where no one is appreciating what you are doing, sometimes you can get tired, no matter how passionate you are,” Kalema said in a YouTube interview on Monday, May 29th.
“There is so much we are doing, and the fact that we have Miss World coming up, I could really use that support.”
Asked about her preparations for the grand stage, Kalema admitted she didn't feel prepared.
“For now I cannot say I am not ready; I actually don't think there is someone who is ever ready for something like this. Even when you get on stage you can realize you need a little more training,” she said.
Karema confirmed that she will be setting off for UAE in November for the Miss World contest, which is slated for December at a date soon to be confirmed.
