‘I don’t listen to dad’s music’ - Chameleone’s son talks favorite artist, family disconnect

I don’t listen to my dad’s music, so I can’t sing to you any of his songs,” revealed shockingly, the 17-year-old in a TikTok livestream on Saturday morning.

In fact his favorite artist, says the youngster, is not anyone in his musically gifted family; it’s not even a Ugandan artist but American rapper Lil Uzzi Vert.

Born Symere Bysil Woods, rapper Vert is known for chart topping hits like “Luv is Rage,” “You was Right” and “Pressure.’ He also featured on the Migos single “Bad and Boujee” 

Abba resides with his mother Daniella Atim in the United States. His father, real names Joseph Mayanja, recently joined them for a visit but has since been hospitalized with a gastro-related complication.

Commenting on his condition, Abba said the Leone Island boss was getting better now.

Don’t be worried about my dad..my dad is good…he is sick but not very, very sick,” Abba reassured.

Regarding his uncle Humphrey Manyaja who was also hospitalized this week with a stomach infection, Abba said he wasn't aware of his condition because the two are not close.

I don't speak to my uncle Humphrey so I don't know,” he said. “I din't even know what happened to him."

Abba answered several other questions about his life during the stream.

He revealed for instance that he doesn't speak Luganda even though he understands it.

He’s also said he was not dating anyone at the moment, but looks forward to marriage, “hopefully soon.” 

In September last year, Abba was rumored to be dating Michelle Kaddu, daughter of Uganda singer Desire Luzinda.

This was after a picture of the two kissing at his birthday went viral. Luzinda was later to dispel the rumors as false.

He refuted using drugs, or being a rastafarian as some users had pointed out from his hairstyle.
