Jjingo left Isabirye around November 2014, less than a year after they exchanged vows in one of the most hyped weddings that Kampala had ever seen at the time.

Leading up to the marriage break up was a big fight at the couple’s home in Najjera, in which they were reportedly seen by neighbors chasing each other with kitchen knives.

Prior to this, the couple had publicly exchanged accusations and counter-accusations about finances, abuse and assault.

Speaking this week about the ugly break up, Jjingo said she was forced to run when it became apparent that she was in danger.

The people who say, as a Muganda woman you should stay and fix it, if they cut off your head will they be around?” she said in a Sanyuka TV interview on Wednesday, May 17th.

We see the news all the time that a man lost his mind and chopped his wife. Why should I wait for that to happen? This is not the generation of our forefathers. Our forefathers were not murderers and were not working for money. But with money today, someone can easily chop off your head.

The Nnonya musajja singer says however, that she doesn't regret her marriage with Isabirye. She also confirmed that the two never had kids together, even though she already had her own at the time.

Currently, she says, she is settled with another man although she should not reveal his identity.

She also said that if her man was to decide today to proceed with mariage, she would wish to keep everything entirely private.
