Nanyonjo noted that this was not Adyero's first time participating in the pageant, which has recently been thrust into the spotlight.
Adyero, a second-time participant in the recently concluded Miss Uganda contest, took to TikTok to accuse the pageant of various misconducts, including favouritism, bribery, and allegedly positioning the beauty queens for sex work.
“We do not play favourites during boot camps because we treat contestants like family, and everyone is free to express themselves and raise their concerns,” said Nanyonjo.
She added that Adyero was playing the sympathy card and seeking attention after being eliminated from the competition.
“I do not wish to give Lourine’s words any attention, as they do not make sense. In every competition, there is a winner and a loser,” Nanyonjo asserted, further commenting that Adyero’s character and the time she spent ranting on social media speak volumes about her.
According to Brenda Nanyonjo, during Adyero’s previous participation, she was eliminated before the boot camp due to her poor behaviour, which included blaming her elimination on tardiness.
Nanyonjo also mentioned that Lourine Adyero had boasted about being smarter than everyone involved in the competition.
“First, check your morals… I believe the public eventually realised her poor conduct… She also displayed a ‘mean girl’ attitude during the boot camp,” Nanyonjo said.
The Miss Uganda contest has often been surrounded by controversies, including last year, when some voters believed that Cindy’s sister would have made a better queen than Hannah Karema.
