“Mzee Sendi, your comment that 'Nyimba bubi' really hurt me, but I’ll take it as constructive criticism and work on improving myself as an artist,” Pia Pounds stated.

"It’s important to note that there are many reasons as to why an artist could sound bad on stage besides being untalented."

This response followed Sendi’s harsh critique of her performance at Sheebah Karungi's concert held on Friday, October 4 at Lugogo Cricket Oval, Kampala. Pia acknowledged that there are several factors that could lead to a poor stage performance beyond mere talent.

Sendi, whose real name is Edward Ssendikadiwa, made his comments on the "Talk and Talk Show," which is hosted on the Kasuku Live YouTube channel. As a member of the event planning team, he did not hold back, stating bluntly: “Pia Pounds, you are a terrible singer.”

He further elaborated on his thoughts by suggesting that she invests heavily in her appearance, advising, “You put a lot of money into your looks... Please also invest in the craft.”

Despite noting that Pia Pounds is “very disciplined,” Sendi criticised her for “poor vocal output.”

He encouraged Pia Pounds to seek guidance from John Kay (John Katerga), a renowned music writer and vocal coach, to improve her singing skills. “Go and do voice training,” Sendi advised, emphasising the importance of rehearsals.

John Kay has an esteemed reputation in the Ugandan music scene, having written songs for several top artists.
