"I think we understand each other. I got my friend. She understands what I do and also understands what she does, so there is that respect for the work she does. At the end of the day, it's understanding each other, so there's no big challenge," said Ssebunya in a media interview when he was asked to respond to people who were curious about a medical doctor marrying a songstress.
He said despite the differences in profession, "at the end of the day, we are husband and wife."
"So, when we return home, life moves on," he said.
Speaking on how he is able to accommodate her nightlife, he said: "It's all about communication. She communicates... in fact, she gives me her weekly timetable so that it doesn't come by surprise."
He, however, noted that most of the time she is at home before him because she doesn't usually have night gigs.
Hamza Ssebunya and Rema Namakula have been together for about five years after getting married in a high-profile union that was splashed across all newspapers in the country.
The couple now shares one daughter, Aaliyah Ssebunya.
Meanwhile, Hamza Ssebunya also confirmed that he injected most of the cash that organised his wife's concert.
"I was supporting my wife, so I pumped in money so that everything goes as you saw it, and I thank God that it was a success," he said.
Her concert was held on February 23, 2024, at the Sheraton Hotel in Kampala.
