State House chips in

A few days ago, reports emerged that President Museveni had directed the State House to cater for his treatment abroad.

The Minister of State for Youth and Children’s Affairs Balaam Barugahara confirmed the development on Saturday while visiting the singer at Nakasero Hospital.

Eternally grateful

Chameleone in a message, thanked the president for standing with him again in his health struggles.

He noted that the President had earlier paid for his medical bill in the US last year.

I don’t know if you still remember but when I first got ill, you sent me money for my treatment. Unfortunately, I never got the opportunity to come and thank you,” he said.

In return, Chameleone promised to stand behind the president in the upcoming election season which kicks off next year.

I am going out to have my engine repaired and when I am back I shall be with you everywhere.”

Persisting complication

Pancreatitis, which Chameleone is battling, is a condition that causes inflammation of the pancreas, a large gland that produces digestive enzymes and hormones.

He first received treatment for the complication in July 2023 during his trip to the US and the Caribbean.

The treatment reportedly cost the equivalent of Shs 370million.
