Holi Festival took place at Kampala’s KCCA Grounds

Kampala’s KCCA Grounds came alive with a burst of colour as Kansai Plascon, in partnership with the Rajasthani Association, the Indian Association of Uganda, and the Indian High Commission, hosted the much-anticipated annual Holi Festival.

This year’s celebration brought together a diverse crowd, united in the joy of the Hindu tradition known as the Festival of Colors. The event was a resounding success, with revellers immersing themselves in the spirited festivities that have become synonymous with Holi.

Holi, which marks the arrival of spring and celebrates the triumph of good over evil, saw attendees joyfully tossing colourful powders into the air. Children and young revellers splashed ‘gulal’—coloured water solutions—while adults exchanged dry powders, known as ‘abir,’ as a gesture of goodwill and friendship.

The event was a sight to behold, with participants joyfully dancing and singing in unison, creating an atmosphere of togetherness and renewal.

A Cultural Feast for the Senses

Beyond the excitement of colour, the celebration was further enriched by an array of traditional Indian delicacies, music, and dance, providing an immersive experience for all attendees.

The lively beats of Indian music set the perfect backdrop for the festivities, as dancers twirled in vibrant outfits and guests savoured delicious treats from the subcontinent. The spirit of Holi was palpable, and the event became a true reflection of the cultural exchange that defines the festival.

Speaking at the event, Santosh Gumte, Managing Director of Kansai Plascon Uganda, expressed the company’s pride in supporting the celebration.

“Plascon Uganda is honoured to be part of Holi Festival 2025, a celebration that beautifully captures the essence of community, diversity, and joy,” he stated.

He went on to highlight how the company resonates with the spirit of Holi, emphasizing their commitment to fostering connections and supporting cultural initiatives.

As a brand that embraces diversity, Kansai Plascon’s involvement in the Holi Festival underscores its dedication to strengthening cultural ties and supporting meaningful community engagement.

This year’s celebration not only showcased the vibrancy of the festival but also reinforced the importance of unity and inclusivity within the Ugandan community.

Kansai Plascon continues to stand as a proud supporter of cultural celebrations that bring people together, highlighting the beauty of diversity in all its forms.
