This pageant annually conducts searches across the country to find regional representatives who later compete in the national Miss Tourism Uganda grand finale held in Kampala.

The regional searches are meticulously organized and overseen by cluster heads appointed by the Miss Tourism Uganda management.

But in a recent communication, the management announced a reshuffle affecting the leadership in two key regions: Kigezi and Northern.

In this reshuffle, Gloria Alele has replaced Mrs. Kotina Akot as the cluster head for the Northern region.

Additionally, Zakia Lucky has taken over from Mrs. Atwongyeire as the cluster head for the Kigezi region.

These changes are aimed at enhancing the effectiveness of the regional searches and ensuring a smooth process leading up to the national competition.

No disruptions

Despite the reshuffle, the regional searches continue as planned. Last week, in the Tooro region, the search concluded with Racheal Akankunda being crowned Miss Tourism Tooro.

Lillian Kempeta was named the 1st runner-up, and Doreen Ngozi secured the position of 2nd runner-up. These winners will represent the Tooro region in the national grand finale in Kampala.

The next regional search is scheduled to take place in Lira on June 29th at Lira Hotel.

Following this, the show will move to the Rwenzori region, with the search there set for July 26th. These events are critical as they determine the regional representatives who will compete for the national title.

Miss Tourism Uganda says the new appointments are part of a broader strategy to ensure that the best talent is discovered and nurtured at the regional level, ultimately leading to a stronger and more vibrant national competition.
