The delegation is led by Liu Jianjun, the Mayor of Weifang City.

During their initial visit on March 26, the Weifang Bureau of Commerce committed to arranging a private sector delegation to Uganda to explore the nation's investment and business prospects.

Mayor Jianjun highlighted the delegation’s investment interests in agriculture, oil and gas, real estate, manufacturing, construction, ICT, machinery, automobiles, and healthcare.

He also expressed their intention to boost Ugandan exports to China.

Welcoming the delegation to the Uganda Investment Authority, Director General Robert Mukiza praised Weifang City for fulfilling its promise of sending a high-powered investment delegation to Uganda.

Mukiza emphasised Uganda's vast investment opportunities, incentives, economic and political stability, security, high profits, access to lucrative markets, young and skilled labour, and strategic location in Africa.

“Investing in Uganda offers access to markets like the East African Community, the Common Market for Eastern and Southern Africa, and the African continent. Make your headquarters here and enjoy the benefits. On return to China, spread the gospel about investing in Uganda,” said Mukiza.

He noted that Uganda is Africa’s third most profitable country, adding, “If you want to make money, invest in Uganda and work with Uganda Investment Authority, which will ensure that they do the running around for you to set up shop easily and faster.”

The Director General informed the delegation that industrialisation is a top priority on President Yoweri Museveni’s development agenda, urging Chinese investors to participate.

Mukiza concluded by expressing his hope for a Weifang Industrial Park in Uganda, including a pathogenic establishment.
