In a statement, SSP Patrick Onyango, the public relations officer for Kampala Metropolitan Police (KMP), said they recovered the following from his home:
- Desert military shoes
- Black police shoes
- An overall resembling that of counter-terrorism police with the [Uganda] flag badge
Patrick Onyango said the operation didn't only target Derrick Nyeko.
Other suspects were Geoffrey Katuruntu, a councilor; Hassan Waswa Musoke, 18, a shop attendant at Costume World Tailoring Shop and resident of Kimwanyi Zone in Wandegeya parish, Kawempe division, Kampala district.
There is also Joseph Bukenya, 32, a cleaner at Bobi Wine’s home in Magere. Bukenya also resides in Magere, Kyadondo East county in Wakiso district.
Marvin Biiso, 18, who is an old phone cover seller and resident of Namungoona, Kampala district, is also a suspect.
From Katuruntu's home, they found:
- A red Beret
Monica Tushemera's house:
- Red berets
- Red NUP attires accompanied by police ranks
Ronnie Gun’s Shop:
- One live PK bullet
- Four army look-alike trousers
- Two military look-alike overalls
- Three army look-alike berets
- One walk-talkie branded alpha Romeo
- One military poncho
- Two military look-alike berets
- Six army-like Chevrons
- Fake counterfeit dollars of 23 bundles of 20 notes
- Two toy pistols
- One stainless curved sharp metal
- Two military badges branded on the auxiliary police department
- Seven khaki shirts with star pips
- Eight khaki trousers
- Three dresses with lanyards
- One black cape branded with police national wording
- Four sewing machines.
The development came after several warnings from police and other security agencies.
According to Patrick Onyango, Derrick Nyeko and the other suspects are being processed for court.
