It has now emerged, however, that the doctors recommended that he seek further specialised treatment in India.

We are currently processing the papers to go to India,” announced Mr Alex Luswa Luwemba, the MP’s Personal Assistant.

Luwemba says although Ssegirinya was discharged after making significant improvement, he is still far from recovery.

The Aga Khan doctors sent him home to be an outpatient, not because he was okay. They advised that he go back every 3 weeks for review,” he said.

He is to be monitored for three months. He is now resting.”

According to the PA, Hon Ssegirinya was being treated for a number of complications with his lungs and liver.

Earlier last year while being admitted in a hospital in Amsterdam, Ssegirinya said he was also being treated for skin cancer

Meanwhile, Mr Luwemba said Hon Ssegirinya had asked to be allowed some privacy to allow his body to recover.

This he said was the reason his return from Nairobi was not publicised.

While the MP does allow a few visitors, he is also uncomfortable with taking pictures with them to be shared online.
