The Uganda Police Force has announced a series of transfers and appointments, with ACP Norman Musinga making a big return to the Directorate of Traffic and Road Safety as Acting Deputy Director.

This comes after a series of deployments that saw him removed from traffic police in September 2021.

Musinga, who served for several years in the directorate among others as the Kampala Traffic Police Commander, was transferred by the then Inspector General of Police (IGP) Martins Okoth Ochola in 2021 to take up the role of Regional Police Commander (RPC) for Rwenzori Sub-region.

In subsequent reshuffles, Musinga was deployed as RPC for Busoga East, a position he has held until his reassignment in the latest shake-up.

The reshuffle, announced on 8 January 2025 by the Inspector General of Police, included several other notable transfers and appointments:

  • AIGP Musana Geoffrey has been transferred from the Directorate of Welfare, Production, and Sports to the Ugandan Embassy in South Sudan as the Police Attaché.

  • SCP Sakira Moses moves from the Ugandan Embassy in South Sudan to the Directorate of Research and Planning as Deputy Director.

  • CP Mubanigzi Ben has been appointed Police Attaché to Algeria from the Directorate of Traffic and Road Safety.

  • CP Ssebambulidde Charles takes up a new role in the Directorate of Logistics and Engineering as Acting Deputy Director for Classified Stores.

  • CP Acaye Philip has been transferred from Traffic and Road Safety to the Agriculture Police as Commandant.

In a statement, the Uganda Police Force extended its congratulations to the officers, wishing them success in their new roles.
