NRM leaders praise ‘family man’ Bobi Wine

Bobi Wine is getting praise – even from unlikely sources – following his recent family trip to western Uganda.

The opposition leader last weekend took a break from his political work and took his family on a visit to his in-laws in Ntungamo district.

While there, Bobi Wine, his wife and children got to connect with nature, touring farms and taking part in village activities.

They also spared time to go check on wildlife in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park in neighbouring Kisoro District, where they also interacted with the indigenous and endangered Batwa community.

NRM leaders impressed

This visit attracted the attention of local leaders, who praised the NUP President for leading an exemplary life as a family man.

Abel Bizimana, the Kisoro district Chairman and member of the ruling National Resistance Movement was first commend the opposition leader

“I still insist that this Ghetto African has excellent family traits,” Bizimana noted.

Bizimana further posted on social media that he found it difficult to believe people who link Bobi Wine with acts of homosexuality, noting how he publicly relates with his wife Barbie.

On the post which went viral on X, other leaders voiced their appreciation for Bobi Wine’s family values.

Emmanuel Ddombo, the Communications Director and Spokesperson of the NRM appreciated Bobi Wine.

“Thank you Bobi Wine for creating time to be with your family. Teach other young people how you do it,” Ddombo wrote.

During the tour, Bobi Wine expressed dismay at how the Batwa Community, (who were uprooted from the Mgahinga forest forest in the 1990s before it was gazetted as a national park) have been abandoned by the government.

“We are not here to just see you, but to see how you are doing, how we can perhaps help you in the future when we have authority,” he said.
