NUP president, Bobi Wine gave his take on Monday about Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba's recent controversial social media posts.
The opposition leader expressed concern about the “tribalism” undertones in Gen Muhoozi's posts on X (formally Twitter).
He said all Ugandans should be equally concerned about the messages being sent by the First Son and Chief of Defense Forces of the UPDF.
“Ugandans need to understand that we are going through a very dark period as long as we remain under the rule of people who think that all the other tribes and nationalities aren’t human enough,” said Bobi Wine.
The NUP leader raised the concern during his end-of-year national address at his home in Magere.
“What the President's son has been posting on Twitter is not only childish and foolish, but it also shows the highest level of tribalism,” he said.
“It shows that he and his family seem to believe that only their kinsmen are considered to be human beings.”
Gen Muhoozi over the weekend took to his favorite social media platform to share a string posts touching different topics.

In one, he talked of Rwakitura, his ancestral home being the “holiest place on earth” and how he believed Jesus Christ was born there.
In other posts, he went on about his desires to marry different famous women including Beyonce and Nigeria's Ayra Starr.
Muhoozi also aimed some barbs at Bobi Wine in the rants, referring to him as a Neanderthal and how he reminded him of Zakaayo, the famous chimpanzee.

The posts were deemed by sections of the public as provocative, and in others as unhinged while other social media users shrugged them off as an attempt at comedy by the general.
However, Bobi Wine in his address warned of the harm that lies in Muhoozi's posts.
“We condemn this behavior by the First Son in the strongest terms because we believe that all Ugandans as the constitution states, are equal, regardless of their tribe, religion , sex or political party,” he said.
