- Spent 6 months at Aga Khan University Hospital in Nairobi for treatment
- Advised by doctors to take a 3-month break and monitor his condition
The legislator has been receiving treatment at Aga Khan University Hospital Nairobi for the past 6 months.
On Friday, the MP was discharged from the hospital and advised by the doctors to take a 3-month break as they periodically monitor his condition.
In a short video message, the MP expressed pleasure to be back home.
“I am very happy that I am discharged and I am coming home,” he said.
“I inform my people that everything is done; I am coming back…amen!.”
Through his assistant, Hon Ssegirinya extended gratitude to the leadership of Parliament for fully facilitating his medical bills.

He also thanked the leaders of his party the National Unity Platform led By President Bobi Wine, Secretary General David Lewis Rubongoya and Leader of Opposition Joel Ssenyonyi.
These often paid him visits and encouraged him to fight on.

Ssegiriya has been battling cancer since last year. He was initially flown to the Netherlands and later to Nairobi for treatment.
