As of today, Saturday June 10, State House granted permission to willing members of the public to access the Nakasero State Lodge where they can deliver their messages in form of printed cards, flowers or handwritten notes, at a banner that has been placed just inside the residence.
President Museveni announced on Wednesday that he had tested positive for Covid19. That evening, after delivering the State of the Nation Address, the president isolated himself at the Nakasero State Lodge.
Rubaga Division Resident City Commissioner (RCC) Anderson Burora, one of the people behind the initiative announced today that the State House’s main gate was now “accessible by the public to bring their quick recovery messages of whatever category for the President.”
“Individuals and groups are welcome for the same; however, there’s no congregating allowed at that point. The spirit of the initiative is to just place your message and proceed to your work or home,” Burora said.
Borora told this reporter in an interview that the members of the public will also be able to access State House Entebbe next week to deliver their messages.
In Entebbe however, Burora said, the messages will be delivered at the Muzinga Park which is located just outside the State House.
“This will run up to Tuesday (June 13),” revealed the RCC.
President Museveni, who is taking only his second sick leave in over 50 years, says the infection has been described by his medics as mild.
