The family has reportedly accepted mediation by an unnamed close family friend with the hope of settling the spat.
Led by the heir, John Ssali Ssebunnya, the family held a meeting last Saturday to discuss the conduct of Tamale Mirundi Jr, son of Joseph Tamale Mirundi who was accused of disrespecting his elders.
Junior was thrown out of the meeting when he declined to apologise for his recent comments aimed at the family members.
One of his aunties was seen hurling projectiles at him as he fled through the gate.
In the meeting, Junior had been summoned to explain his tirade in an earlier media interview, in which he used derogatory language against his uncles and aunties while protesting their decision to formally seek an apology before the Kingdom of Buganda over the misdeeds of the late Mirundi.
In the interview, Junior had slammed elders for “betraying” his father.
He was reportedly opposed to the family seeking forgiveness from the kingdom, against his later father's wishes.
He cited the late Mirundi's warning before his death, that nobody should ever apologise to the people he angered.
Junior's comments were reportedly hurtful that they made his uncle, Mr Ssali cry.
The meeting
During the meeting, Junior stood up and left, when he was threatened with "further action." This angered the family members, with one of his aunties chasing after him with stones.
A video of the meeting proceedings went viral on Monday morning.
Following the meeting, a close family member reached out offering to bring the clashing parties together.
According to media personality Kasuku, subsequent meetings are expected to be held later this week to put this matter to rest.
