Manchester United look destined to bag three points as the Selhurst Park thanks to Bruno Fernades 43rd minute goal.
United gave on-loan striker Wout Weghorst his debut and United hanged on the slim lead and were pretty much in control to achieve a 10-match winning streak.
However, in added time after end of normal time, Olise in a moment of magic denied Manchester United three points in added time as the Red Devils were forced to settle for a stalemate.
The Frenchman fired a free kick screamer giving De Gea no chance. Victory at Selhurst Park would have reduced United’s gap from table leaders Arsenal whom they face next week.
They are now third placed with 39 points, Arsenal at 47 points but with a game less while second placed Man City face fifth placed Tottenham on Thursday.
On-form star Casemiro also got his fifth booking and will be miss the encounter against high flying Arsenal.
Away from the frustration of United, Olise baffled fans as he seemed ‘unimpressed’ by his own moment of magic.
Speaking to the Athletic, his former teammate at Reading Tom McIntyre says Olise just loves being ‘different’.
“The'd play two-touch with the manager (Paunovic) in the gym, he'd win a point in that, and he'd be shouting and celebrating, but on a Saturday, he'd score a goal in front of the home end and just stand there.
“We never really worked out why. He could never give us an answer but he's just different; a special player”.
“I know what it is, he loves the rapper Lil Uzi Vert and there's another few of those rappers he likes. They unfollow everyone on their Instagram and I think he wants to be like them. That's strange to me and some of the lads but to him, that's different and cool”.
