The Ministry of Health through <a href="https://www.pulselive.co.ke/news/210-new-cases-of-covid-19-confirmed-as-total-hits-38378/qfvptj3">CAS Rashid Aman</a> has confirmed 151 new cases of the novel Coronavirus in the last 24 hours after testing 2,927 samples.

The cases comprise 145 Kenyans and 6 foreigners. 97 are male and 54 are female while the youngest case is a one-year-old child and the oldest is aged 82.

The cases are distributed as follows: Nairobi county leads with 32 cases followed by Nakuru (24), Kisumu (22), Garissa (14), Mombasa (10), Meru (8) and Kajiado (8), Kisii (6), Bomet and Kiambu (5) cases each, Siaya (3), Uasin Gishu (2), Kilifi, Marsabit, Murang’a and West Pokot (2) cases each.

Kakamega, Bungoma, Nyamira, and Kitui recorded (1) case each.

On sad note, today 4 more patients have succumbed to the deadly virus.

“On a sad note we have lost 4 patients to the disease bringing the fatality to 711. Our sincere condolences to the families and friends of those who have lost their loved ones” said CAS Rashid Aman.

However, 168 more people have recovered, bringing the total number of recoveries to 24,908.

“On a positive note, 168 people have recovered from the disease, 105 from the Home-Based Care Program, while 63 have been discharged from various hospitals. Total recoveries now stand at 24,908. We honor our&nbsp;healthcare workers for this great achievement” said Aman.

151 more test positive for Covid-19, total 38,529

The Ministry of <a href="https://www.pulselive.co.ke/news/9-dead-as-53-more-test-positive-for-covid-19/92jkcen">Health through CS Mutahi Kagwe</a> has confirmed 210 new cases of Covid-19 bringing the total number of those who have tested positive to 38,378.

The new cases are from 3, 604 samples tested in the last 24 hours. 127 of the new cases are male while 83 are females, with the youngest being 6 months old infant and oldest 91. All the news cases are Kenyans except 10 who are foreigners.

The distribution of the new cases by Counties are as follows;

Nairobi 55, Kericho 36, Kitui 24, Kiambu 21, Nakuru 19, Mombasa 15, Kisumu 10, Kisii 8, Kilifi 6, Turkana 5, Embu 4, Wajir 2, Machakos 1, Kakamega 1, Nandi 1, Kwale 1 and Kajiado 1.

At the same time 59 people have recovered from the deadly virus, 49 from home-based care program while 10 have been discharged from various hospitals, Total recoveries now stand at 24, 740.

“Sadly 7 patients have succumbed to the disease bringing the fatality to 707. Our sincere condolences to the families and friends of those who have lost their loved ones” reads a statement from CS Mutahi Kagwe.

Reports indicate that Ms Matete’s Husband BelovedJohn Apewajoye died at a time the songstress had already conceived months into their wedding.

Matete lost her husband in April 2020, following a domestic home accident that left him with burn injuries that he later succumbed to.

In November last year, the singer got married to the love of her life, John Apewajoye (now the late) in a colorful ceremony that was attended by close friends and family.

The list of nominees for the 2020 Thompson Foundation Young Journalist Award is out and KTN Journalist Timothy Otieno is <a href="https://www.pulselive.co.ke/entertainment/larry-madowo-crowned-winner-of-the-2020-philip-greer-award-at-columbia-journalism/5eq269c">among those nominated.</a>

Otieno earned the nomination following his incredible coverage on streets kids during the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic.

An excited Otieno shared the good news of being shortlisted among other able Journalists around the world, to battle for the prestigious award.

“So happy and honoured to have my journalism work recognized by the UK Foreign Press Association! I’m extremely humbled to be shortlisted for this years’ Thompson Foundation Young Journalist Award,” tweet Timothy Otieno.

The annual Thomson Foundation award that is supported by the UK Foreign Press Association received 200 entries from 55 countries where they selected 12 journalists to battle for the Award.

A short description of Otieno’s work by the UK Foreign Press Association reads;

“As the Covid-19 pandemic takes hold across the globe, Kenyan journalist,&nbsp;Timothy Otieno, reports on how lockdowns imperil street children. Few groups are as vulnerable as the children who rely on the streets for food, water and shelter but coronavirus curfews and the closure of eateries and drop-in centres have made access even more precarious. They are also more likely to be caught up in outbreaks in slums, where social distancing and good hygiene are difficult to observe. The three Young Journalist finalists will be announced in October and the overall winner will be decided by external judges; British Investigative Journalist, Seyi Rhodes, contributing editor of the&nbsp;Financial Times, John Lloyd, and former editor of the BBC Today programme, Sarah Sands.

The winner will be announced in November.

KTN Journalist Timothy Otieno nominated for international Award in UK

Comedian Daniel Ndambuki <a href="https://www.pulselive.co.ke/entertainment/its-good-to-have-critics-mwalimu-churchills-response-after-being-accused-of-not/nyby57c">alias Mwalimu Churchill </a>has penned down an open letter to President Uhuru Kenyatta, asking him to consider re-opening the country on grounds that the entertainment industry is suffering.

According to Churchill, the past 6 months have been very difficult for Kenyans and it will only be good if he allows them to go back to work by relaxing measures put in place to curb the spread of Covid-19.

He pointed out that the entertainment industry in the country is very young and doesn’t have the shock absorbers to withstand the ongoing economic disruption.

Former KTN investigative Journalist Dennis Onsarigo is mourning the sudden demise of his father.

Onsarigo, who works as the <a href="https://www.pulselive.co.ke/news/local/case-files-ktn-ktns-dennis-onsarigo-given-top-government-job/jfs4r9z">Director of Communication in Taita Taveta </a>County, shared the sad news via a tweet on his official Twitter account that enjoys a following over 641K followers.

Despite, sharing the sad news to the public, Onsarigo did not reveal the cause of his father’s death.

Socialite Corazon Kwamboka has lashed out a fan who reached out with “Hata Maureen Alikuwa hapo” comment on her photo<a href="https://www.pulselive.co.ke/entertainment/corazon-kwamboka-and-frankie-welcome-a-bouncing-baby-boy-named-taiyari-photo/ltm1qpk"> with her lover Frankie JustGymIt.</a>

Over the weekend, Ms Kwamboka put a photo posing with her baby daddy Frankie stating that she could have described the picture with a long essay but instead she will just say one word “Forever”.

“I could make this into a long essay about how much you mean to me, I’ll just say it in a word; FOREVER” reads Kwamboka’s caption.

The caption prompted as a fan called Gitau Winny to react negatively saying "Ata Maureen alikuwa Hapo, same Story. I got only on word for you 2nd wives never stay long, out of experience. But I wish you nothing but the best…stay happy”.

However, <a href="https://www.pulselive.co.ke/entertainment/corazon-kwamboka-explains-why-she-is-yet-to-hire-a-nanny-weeks-after-giving-birth/8m1hh02">in quick rejoinder</a>, the mother of one hit back telling the fan to be bold and just hate on her instead of sugarcoating her negativity with advise. Adding that she is not in need of her wishes.

In a post seen by Pulse Live, Cashy claims that Papa Jones has not been picking her calls yet their son is sick and in need of medical attention.

On Thursday (Night) <a href="https://www.pulselive.co.ke/entertainment/u-are-and-always-have-been-my-dream-girl-ghanaian-actor-frederick-nuamah-confesses/wwznqs1">Business woman Zari Hassan </a>threw a lavish Party to mark her 40th Birthday, and indeed it was all glitz and glamour.&nbsp;

The exquisite Party was graced by her family members and close friends among them Pearl Thusi aka Queen Sono, DJ Zinhle Jiyane, Adams Ddumba, Nicole Capper, Ashley Ash Talal, and Matapa Maila among others.

The highlight of the Birthday Party&nbsp;was Diamond Platnumz’s surprise video call to the mother his two kids, in the middle of all the merry-making.

A short video that has surfaced online shows a happy Zari and her friends talking to Chibu Dangote where she says “Baba Tee has never forgot to check on his Queen” adding "Diamooooond….sawa Baba Tee tutaongea baadaye”.

Kings Music Records CEO Ali Saleh Kiba aka Alikiba has sparked interesting reactions after throwing shade at his nemesis <a href="https://www.pulselive.co.ke/entertainment/alikiba-teams-up-with-hamisa-mobetto-to-drop-much-anticipated-video-dubbed-dodo/weljn65">Diamond Platnumz and Harmonize</a> in new song dubbed Mediocre.

King Kiba decided to square it out with everyone who has been fighting for the “King of Bongo Flava” crown through well-arranged lyrics, that will put the debate to a rest for some time.

Kiba insinuates that his rivals have been using dark forces (witchcraft) to wow fans and claim his crown. He goes on to thump chest himself, saying his competitors are focused on doing stunts to been seen, yet he is dedicated to doing good music.

Looking at the above lyrics its evident that both Diamond and Harmonize have been accused of copy pasting other people’s songs and it’s also true that back in 2011 Alikiba danced with Chibu Dangote’s sister Queen Darleen in their song Nakupenda.

Addressing the controversy surrounding the Mediocre song, Kiba said, not everyone can be a king and there is always one king at a time

However, a section of Diamond and Harmonize’s fans are not happy with him, claiming that he is riding on other people’s names to promoter his craft.
