After hauling in an interception , San Francisco 49ers cornerback Richard Sherman mocked Kirk Cousins ' signature "You like that?!" catchphrase by repeating "I like that!" for the cameras.
San Francisco 49ers cornerback Richard Sherman is one of the most talented defensive players in the NFL, but he's certainly not known for his modesty.
So when the five-time Pro Bowler hauled in a game-defining interception off of Kirk Cousins during the second half of the 49ers' Divisional Round matchup against the Minnesota Vikings, he didn't hold back with the smack talk.
Sherman mocked Cousins' signature "You like that?!" catchphrase by repeating "I like that!" in front of the cameras as he walked off the field after the play.
Cousins famously coined the catchphrase back in 2015 when he played for the Washington Redskins. After leading Washington to its largest comeback in franchise history, the quarterback walked through the team's facilities screaming "You like that?!"
He's continued to use the phrase despite his transferred allegiances. Cousins pulled out the sound bite just last week to fire up his team after Minnesota stunned Drew Brees and the New Orleans Saints on the road in their Wild Card matchup.
The nine-year NFL veteran's interception came with just under 10 minutes remaining in the third quarter and the Vikings trailing by a touchdown on third-and-9. Sherman expertly read Cousins' movements and gobbled up the football just in front of the logo before running it back 20 yards.
The game seemed to shift from that point on. San Francisco piled on another 10 points before the game's end while holding Minnesota stagnant at 10 points.
Sherman and the 49ers will host the winner of Sunday evening's grudge match between the Green Bay Packers and Seattle Seahawks in the NFC championship game on January 19.
