How to win
Consumers participating in the promotion need to purchase select UBL products, including Uganda Waragi Premium, Coconut and Lemon and Ginger, Bond 7, Gilbeys, or V&A. Each bottle contains a unique code under the cap, which participants must send via SMS to 6688 to enter the promotion.
With each submission, consumers are guaranteed entry into a weekly televised raffle draw, where they stand a chance to win up to UGX 50 million.
The draws will be broadcast every Thursday evening on NBS, NTV, Bukedde TV, and Galaxy TV, adding an exciting element of anticipation and visibility to the promotion.
Robert Nsibirwa, Marketing Manager Spirits at Uganda Breweries, highlighted the company's commitment to connecting with consumers across Uganda.
"As a customer-centric business, activities like these represent our dedication to fostering meaningful connections with our consumers across Uganda. Through Laga Swagga, we will give back to our consumers for their unwavering loyalty to our unrivalled brands. This campaign is also aligned with our purpose to celebrate life, every day, everywhere," he said.
The launch event was attended by various stakeholders, including distributors, consumers, and media representatives. During the event, three lucky winners were rewarded with UGX 1.5 million as part of the campaign's first rewards. This initial prize distribution set the tone for the 12-week promotion, showcasing the potential for significant winnings.
Nsibirwa also emphasised the campaign's broader impact, stating that "Laga Swagga is positioned to reconnect with consumers throughout the country whilst benefitting various players within the UBL value chain, thus contributing to socio-economic growth."
He also assured participants of the campaign's integrity by announcing that Ernst and Young would oversee the auditing process, ensuring professionalism and transparency.
In addition to consumer prizes, the campaign offers incentives for distributors. Those who achieve high sales volumes stand a chance to receive stock worth up to UGX 1 million, further motivating engagement across the supply chain.
The "Laga Swagga" promotion promises to be a vibrant and engaging initiative, celebrating UBL's loyal customers and offering substantial cash prizes. With the campaign's combination of excitement, visibility, and rewards, it is set to leave a lasting impression on consumers and stakeholders alike.
