Vaal Uganda breaks ground for Cadenza, Kampala’s tallest residential tower

Players in the housing industry and government officials yesterday converged to witness the launch of the construction of what is set to be the highest residential building in Kampala.

Dubbed Cadenza Residence, the project, located on Plot 1 along Katonga Road, will feature 24 floors, including 2 five-bedroom penthouses on the 23rd & 24th floors.

The project is being developed by Vaal Uganda, a subsidiary of Turkish company Vaal Real Estates.

Minister for Kampala, Hon Minsa Kabanda officially broke ground for the project. She was flanked by other government officials including KCCA Deputy Executive Director Eng David Luyimbazi and Ms Amanda Ngabirano, the chairwoman of the National Physical Planning Board.

The Minister at the launch praised Vaal Real Estate for helping improve Kampala’s skyline.

"I believe that this development will create a vibrant dynamic space that will meet the needs of our people,” she said.

The Minister further committed “all the support you need in order to complete this project.”

The Cadenza is expected to be completed by 2027.

Brian Arinaitwe the Vaal Head of Sales, touted the tower as an "architectural masterpiece."

The 80-meter building will have three basements with 24 floors, making it the tallest residential tower in the country.

With spaces ranging from studios, one-bedroom and two-bedroom, the facility with amenities including a heated pool, 24-hour concierge and reception, barbecue spaces, safe kids’ play areas, saunas and steam rooms, landscaped gardens, gyms, prayer rooms, as well as workstations among others.

Islam Muhamed, the Chief Executive Officer of VAAL Real Estate Uganda, said the Cadenza Residence will “set new benchmarks for luxury living, with its extensive amenities advanced design and unique living experience in Uganda."

It will be a symbol of progress, innovation and Kampala’s bright future,” he said.

Muhamed also promised regular construction progress to the investors and adherence to KCCA’s standards.

On her part, Mrs Jane Baine, a project joint partner commended Vaal for picking her location for the grand project.
