BLU3, who rose to prominence in the early 2000s, captivated audiences with their chart-topping hits like “Hitaji,” “Burrn,” “Sanyu Lyange,” and “Kankyakyankye.”

Their success established them as the most influential girl group in Africa, leading to sold-out concerts and numerous awards. However, the group disbanded in 2008 as the members pursued solo careers.

Now, more than a decade later, BLU3 is back in the studio, working on new music with renowned producer Artin. This move has fans eagerly awaiting the reunion concert and the new sounds the group will bring to the stage. Cindy Sanyu, speaking on behalf of the trio, emphasized the importance of maintaining their original essence while blending it with contemporary sounds.

We need to bring our old shade of BLU3, not leave it… don’t dump BLU3. Get that and merge it. Recently, we got into the studio with Artin, and we understood the sound we were fighting for. We don’t want BLU3 to be dumped in this new music. We have brought our shades of BLU3 and it merged to bring that sound to life,” Cindy explained.

Lilian Mbabazi echoed Cindy’s sentiments, expressing her excitement about the reunion and the collaborative process.

We are working together as a team. We show up. This journey is something I am excited about. It is going to be fabulous,” she said.
