A ring doesn’t define marriage, Linda on relationship with Douglas Lwanga

"People will always talk. But sometimes you remind them that even if you talk, I like what I'm doing... I was prepared for it," she said while speaking to Sanyuka TV.

"No word will kill my marriage... I came determined... We've not wedded, what you people want... A ring doesn't define marriage... literally I have been married for 11 years... I have been with him for 11 years, what's new? There is nothing new. We've done everything. You've talked about it all. We've heard it all. We have no pride... You won't change us."

Being celebrities, their relationship has been a point of social media discussion over the 11 years they have been together, as some people believe Mukasa is older than Lwanga. Mukasa has dismissed this.

“... ndi mukadde [I am old], namagoye [albino], bleached, lolz [sic]," she said in a Facebook post last year following continued attacks.

"FYI... he’s older than me if you must know (and y’all can argue with your keyboards). Trust me when I say we both [are] comfortable with and embraced our imperfections.”

Lwanga is now 37 and the couple has two boys together, one is nine and the other is four.

According to Mukasa, their relationship wouldn’t have lasted this long if they didn’t love each other.

“Nio nio omwesibako, who told you? You can enforce yourself on someone who doesn't want you? Men settle where they find love, respect, care and peace and of course, much more than just sex and being a fellow man in a relationship and this should be a lesson to many of you,” she said in the post.

On top of raising kids together, the couple has partnered to run successful businesses by joining their talents in media and marketing. One of their biggest brands is the Purple Party.
