According to Gashumba, Sheilah had flown with her mother, who also goes by Tina, to South Africa. Sheilah had gone for a study program.

Gashumba saw the tattoo when they were going to church.

"The first time she got a tattoo, she had gone with her mother to South Africa, to study some program,” said Frank Gashumba while appearing on Radio 4. “On returning, I asked her what had happened to her armpits as we're going to church.”

Gashumba said he got angry and called Sheilah's mother who told him times had changed. That children can do whatever they want.

"You're doing this and a ki-woman is doing the other... If men were to say what they go through, you would cry... How can I walk with a child whose fingernails look like six-inch nails?” said Gashumba who appeared emotional.

Gashumba’s comments come days after private pictures of Sheilah and her boyfriend Rickman Manrick leaked to the media. Sheilah’s tattoo on the butt cheek is one of the parts of the leaked content that drew a lot of social media attention.

Frank Gashumba is fighting parenting battles on double fronts – on one side he doesn’t like Rickman Manrick and on the other, he has to deal with Sheilah’s mom who he says is defiant.

This is not the first time he has publicly commented on his daughter’s fast life. In January, a 10-minute phone call between Frank and Sheilah’s friend leaked to the public and in that audio he confessed a lot about his pain seeing his daughter making bad life decisions.

However, at times he has had to defend her when she came under public pressure. In the Radio 4 appearance, Frank Gashumba said Sheilah doesn’t take his advice seriously.
