In 2015, Azawi joined a band that eventually collaborated with Eddy Kenzo, for whom she wrote a song. Kenzo introduced her to Kuseim, his producer at Big Talent Entertainment. Together, they started writing songs until Kuseim left Big Talent to establish his own studio. It was Kuseim who produced the beat for "Quinamino." Initially, they intended to sell the track, with Azawi suggesting Swangz Avenue, as she hoped Winnie Nwagi would perform it.

However, when she met Benon Mugumbya and Julius Kyazze at Swangz Avenue, they offered her a contract and encouraged her to sing rather than just write songs. She accepted their offer, and her career took off from there.
