Cool told Mbidde, who represents Uganda in the East African Legislative Assembly, to emulate his relationship with his wife, Zuena Kirema.

"Put your hands together ladies and gentlemen, you are from eating. That's why I don't like food, Mbidde. Put your hands together for the two ladies and gentlemen," said Cool who performed at the wedding reception held at Lake Victoria Serena Golf Resort and Spa.

"Welcome to the world of Bebe Cool and Zuena where we have beautiful ladies, and we treat them nicely.

"We love them and we make sure we keep them the way we get them... We treat beautiful babies well...

"I did it first. Mine is still intact. You understand! They have given us their child... People are always saying Bebe Cool is a loving man."

Fred Mukasa Mbidde and Phiona Nayebale wedded at Uganda Marty’s Basilica in Munyonyo, Kampala.

The guest list included Nobert Mao, the Minister for Justice and Constitutional Affairs, and Thomas Tayebwa, the Deputy Speaker of Parliament. Haruna Kasolo, the finance state minister, was Mbidde’s best man.

Mao described Mbidde as a trustworthy friend with thick skin yet soft on the inside.

“Inside that mask that you see is a soft, emotional and a very loving gentleman,” he said. “It is only if you get close to him that you will be able to experience that inner person of Hon Mbidde.”

Mbidde was first introduced to the family of Nayebale in a traditional Gusaba ceremony, which took place in December 2019 before the COVID-19 lockdown.

Mbidde’s first wife, Bukomansimbi Woman MP Susan Namaganda passed on in a road accident on the Kampala-Masaka highway in 2015.
