In a statement, Sanyu said that they are awaiting advice from the Uganda National Cultural Centre (UNCC) and the National Cultural Forum (NCF) to figure out the way forward.

Sanyu, who professionally goes by Cindy, wrote:

"We hope this message finds you in good health and high spirits. We are writing to update you on the recent developments within our vibrant music industry.

"As many of you may be aware, there have been ongoing discussions surrounding the formation of a proposed federation, the Uganda Musicians Federation (UNMF).

"We want to assure you that UMA has been actively engaging in these discussions and are open to further consultations to best represent your interests. Our aim is to work collaboratively with all stakeholders, to harmonize our industry and elevate it to greater heights.

"We are awaiting further guidance from the Uganda National Cultural Centre (UNCC) and the National Cultural Forum (NCF) who are critical in guiding us on the roadmap for the federation of the music industry.

"We understand the importance of this moment and your queries surrounding it. Your voice matters in every step we take. Therefore, be assured that you will be involved in the next steps of this process and all subsequent decisions.

"Finally, we want to reaffirm that UMA is alive, well, and committed to its mission. We are constantly adapting to the dynamic landscape of our industry, always prioritizing your needs and aspirations. We thank you for your unwavering support and commitment to UMA. Onwards and upwards."

The Uganda National Musicians Federation (UNMF) is led by Eddy Kenzo (president), who is Cindy's friend and Sheebah Karungi (first vice president), who is Cindy's nemesis.
