He was among the first people to send out hearty congratulations to the youthful politician after the news broke of her appointment.
On the post seen and liked by thousands, commentators went straight back to the rumours which first came out last year about the two dating.
Some social media users referred to the MP as “Mrs Eddy Kenzo” and others as his “wife-to-be”.
Days later both Kenzo and Phiona Nyamutoro were seen in a picture with the former's daughter at school. A picture was also shared on social media showing them wearing the same jacket on different occasions.
In an interview, a Sanyuka TV reporter put it to Kenzo: You are always happy when talking about her.
Kenzo: She is my friend.
Reporter: She is your friend to what extent because we've seen pictures of [you and her at your daughter's school].
Kenzo: She is a very close friend.
Reporter: We also saw you wearing lookalike jackets.
Kenzo: Are you [reporter] the only one with such earphones?
The rumours that the two were dating first spread online last year by one Rodrigo Matyansi, who claimed that the two were dating secretly and that she had even gifted him a new car.
Nyamutoro responded nonchalantly to the post, neither denying nor accepting the claims.
Later on, however, she clarified that she was not in a relationship with Kenzo, although she admitted knowing him for many years, long before she joined parliament.
