Brenda Nanyonjo who is the current CEO of Miss Uganda says they are constantly engaging with the US Embassy together with the state minister for Foreign Affairs to easily get Elizabeth and herself a visa to go represent the Pearl of Africa at the Miss World pageant come December 16th at Puerto Rico.
As most beauty queens prepare to head off to the town of Puerto Rico in the USA, our own representative and current Miss Uganda, Elizabeth Bagaya could miss a chance to participate in the coming Miss World pageant due to the delayed visa.

Brenda said, “We have already paid for the visa and are only waiting for the US Embassy to approve it. We want the embassy to understand that we are not going to the US, but Puerto Rico, which is their territory. But to get a Puerto Rican visa, one needs to go through the US Embassy,”.
Currently, they are stuck at a stage where the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, through the Ministry of Tourism has to give a hand of help and get them these visas to travel.
This year will be the 70th edition of Miss World and will be held at the Jose Miguel Agrelot Coliseum in San Juan. The Miss Uganda team commenced an online petition needing 1,000 signatures to pressure whoever is concerned to get Bagaya a visa.
The Minister of State for Tourism, Martin Mugarra Bahinduka, while speaking at the media center rallied Ugandans to donate to a fundraiser and enable Elizabeth travel.
