From US, Kaiyz Kawalya predicts Alien, Clever J concert flop

As he settles into his new life in the United States, former NBS and Sanyuka TV presenter Isaac Kawalya Kaiyz has made a prediction about the upcoming concert by singer Clever J.

Isaac Kaiyz Kawalya punched holes in the Clever J, Alien Skin partnership

Kaiyz says the concert dubbed “The return of Clever J Eddogo Lyafuluka" will be a big flop.

The show, slated for August 4, at the Lugogo KCCA Grounds is the brainchild of Fangon Forest under breakout artist Alien Skin.

Skin and Clever J about a fortnight ago collaborated on a new single "Binyuma Bitya" which has picked up steam on social media and in the mainstream.

But Kaizy doesn't see the upcoming concert pulling any crowds, due to what he considers a weak force behind it and the fact that the main artist, Clever J has languished in oblivion for a long time.

Clever J cannot get 7000 people unless they are entering for free,” Kaiyz told Youtuber Flavia Namulidwa in his first interview in the US on Thursday, June 13.

The strength and popularity that Alien Skin got came from that Pallaso saga….but he himself cannot push another artist like Clever J back into the limelight.”

Besides, the entertainment journalist wondered how Clever J, real name Gerald Muwonge, can pull off a show that size with his limited music catalog.

Yes, he is talented and he can sing but he cannot be on stage for 2 hours,” he said.

On the other hand, Kiayz blamed Ugandan promoters who, he said, “want to prove a point to the big artists that they can bring out the unknown artists in order to drop the value of the big artists; which is impossible.”

It should be noted that Alien Skin, who had also faced similar predictions by pundits, pulled off a sold out show at Freedom City Mall and two other equally successful ones in the UK and UAE.

Skin has another big concert dubbed "Kwancho festival" planned for August 27 at Buloba Forest Park.

Kaiyz relocated to the United States at the start of this month after he reportedly fell out with his Next Media employers.
