After the festival, Kenzo, real name Edrisah Musuuza, held a press conference and emphasised that Nabbanja has been with him through thick and thin, so he can’t ruin their relationship because of differences of political affiliation.
When Prime minister Robinah Nabbanja attended the Eddy Kenzo Festival on November 12, the singer’s fans in the opposition were left with a bad taste in their mouths.

Now, events promoter Balaam Barugahara revealed that Kenzo started working with Nabbanja before she even became a Member of Parliament (MP).
"The prime minister is a person like me... one of her first government appointments was RDC [Resident District Commissioner]. She used to deal with the Kenzos. She owned a bar in Kakumiro. Kenzo and Nince Henry sang at her functions a lot. So, when she comes to her brother's or son's functions, those who don't want friendships, don't like Uganda,” Barugahara said in a recent interview.
Nabbanja, who is Uganda’s first female prime minister, has been the Woman MP Kakumiro District since 2011.
Before becoming a lawmaker, she was an RDC for 10 years, serving in Pallisa, Busia and Budaka.
Meanwhile, Barugahara said that Kenzo should have also invited the president to the concert.
“Kenzo should have broadcast a video of President Museveni speaking to people. He is a musician like him. Haven't you heard of the 16-song album he recently launched?" he said.
On whether the government sponsored the festival, Barugahara said: "That's a lie. Kenzo has made his own money... He has been around the country promoting his show.”
It should be recalled that when Kenzo recently lost his brother, Nabbanja attended the burial and President Museveni sent a condolence message.
