In a Facebook post, Mutesasira denied ever being Makula's friend though she acknowledged that the latter helped her at some point.

Birungi, who is a gospel singer based in Canada, said that Makula used to help her promote her songs on Salt (though she didn't specify whether it was on the radio station or TV). Makula has worked with both Salt FM and Salt TV.
She also pointed out the hypocrisy in Makula for looking at her as a sinner because she is a lesbian yet Makula was also cohabiting with a married man.
"I didn't know she was" cohabiting "with a married man. Just like she didn't know my sexuality," Birungi said.
"Yes true I knew her but we were not friends."
Susan Makula is now in a relationship with Pastor Aloysius Bugingo whom she allegedly started dating when he was married to Teddy Naluswa, with whom Bugingo sired four kids.
A video showing Makula taking jibes at Julie Birungi swirled through social media on Wednesday.
"There is a fool I normally see called Julie Mutesasira, she used to be my friend and she became a lesbian. No one wants to ruin others like a damaged person," she said.
"When Satan was chased away from heaven, knowing what's there, he doesn't want anyone else to go there. Julie Mutesasira's campaign is to show the world that homosexuality is the best thing in the world. She is always sharing posts of people supporting homosexuality. But who knows her apart from Ugandans? I used to love her songs, but she is no longer human."
Julie Mutesaira was married to Pastor Steven Mutesaira with whom they have three children, two of whom -- Esther and Ezekiel -- were the winners of East Africa's Got Talent in 2019. Mutesasira and Birungi divorced in 2016 and she relocated to Canada.
