Speaking to Eddie Sendi, the YouTuber first mentioned singer Spice Diana. Following Mirundi’s passing, Diana shared a heartfelt video of herself dancing with the late political and social commentator. "Shared a great moment with you," she wrote on X. "One thing I knew he was a big fan of mine and loved my song 'Bajikona'. RIP Tamle [sic]."

Kasuku, who collaborated with Mirundi for around four years, admitted he wasn’t entirely sure why Mirundi liked Diana so much but suspected they had a deep understanding of each other.

Another prominent figure Mirundi held in high regard was Speaker Anita Annet Among, who, according to Kasuku, once looked after Mirundi’s child.

In her tribute on X, Among expressed, "I was deeply saddened to hear about the passing of my friend, Joseph Tamale Mirundi. As a journalist, civil servant, and social-political commentator, Mirundi made significant contributions to his country, and his loss leaves a great void. My sympathies go out to counsel John Mirundi, the entire family, his friends, and relatives. May his soul rest in peace."
