Wine recently ruffled the feathers of artistes when he berated them during Kato Lubwama's burial, citing scheming in the Federation.
Some musicians didn't like the tone Wine used while addressing them.
On Thursday night, Eddy Kenzo took to social media to respond cryptically respond to Wine who had earlier called them beggars.
He said the Federation is about fighting for the rights of musicians and pushing for a law that will see them earn from their royalties.
Some critics believe Eddy Kenzo was speaking out of anger and that he had misinterpreted Bobi Wine's comments.
Responding to critics in a media interview, Kenzo noted that it's his mandate to defend musicians, as he is their leader. He also noted that correcting them is also his duty and Wine is also among the musicians he leads.
"If I wasn't the president, I would be quiet... the onus is on me to defend musicians as their leader," said Kenzo.
"Even Kyagulanyi is under me because he is a musician and I'm a president elect... That's why I have to come out and correct him, because I'm his leader," he added.
Asked what he thinks of netizens who attack him on social media, the Sitya Loss hitmaker said:
"I'm Eddy Kenzo of Africa, of the world, a Grammy-nominated artiste. I'm a very focused artiste. I only talked about issues of national importance.
"Artistes who haven't understood what we are doing should come for meetings and we educate them instead of relying on rumours."
Bebe Cool also released a statement attacking Bobi Wine.
