Comedy Duo Madrat and Chiko to celebrate 10 years with thrilling show at Sheraton

Renowned Ugandan comedians Madrat and Chiko are set to mark a decade in the comedy industry with their highly anticipated show, “10 Years of Madrat And Chiko,” part of the Nseko Buseko season 5. This grand celebration will take place on October 8th, 2024, at the Kampala Sheraton Gardens, and is organised by Talent Africa Group, with major sponsorship from Uganda Waragi.

At a press conference on Monday, shared their enthusiasm for this milestone event and assured their fans of an unforgettable experience.

Madrat, whose real name is Dickson Lubega teased the content of the show, saying, “This is going to be a celebration like no other. Those of you who have been to our shows have seen what we do. It is always top-notch. Now imagine what we have in store as we celebrate 10 years.”

He added that the night will feature a special lineup that promises a mixture of humour, nostalgia, and unique performances.

Meanwhile, Frank Mubiru, known as Chiko, further emphasised that the show will maintain a family-friendly approach, ensuring that the humour will be suitable for all age groups.

"People should expect the very best as we mark 10 years," he remarked. "You should also expect great content, and you can come with the kids as well. Some people might fear that stand-up has a lot of vulgarity, but this is something that we have mastered; ensuring that our content is suitable for all."

Talent Africa Group’s CEO, Aly Allibhai, expressed the company's excitement in being part of Madrat and Chiko’s milestone.

Hilary Baguma, the Uganda Breweries Brand Manager Mainstream Spirits, congratulated Madrat and Chiko on their achievement, noting, “We are proud to support this fantastic event. Madrat and Chiko have brought smiles to countless faces over the years, and we are excited to be part of their journey.

He added that Uganda Waragi has a heritage of celebrating all things Ugandan and supporting local talent, having previously sponsored shows like Fun Factory’s Comedicine and Salvador’s Africa Laughs.

The duo took the opportunity to thank their supporters, expressing gratitude to their fans who have stood by them over the past decade. “This show is not just a celebration of our work but of everyone who has been part of our journey. We can’t wait to share this special night with all of you!” Madrat and Chiko shared.

Tickets for the event are available at various price points, with ordinary tickets priced at 30,000 UGX and an early bird offer of 25,000 UGX. VIP tickets are available at 60,000 UGX, with early bird options at 50,000 UGX, while a more exclusive VVIP experience is priced at 100,000 UGX. For larger groups, tables are being sold at 3 million UGX, offering an enhanced experience. Tickets can be purchased through www.tagticketing.com or via the short code 16598#.

The duo's celebration won't stop in Kampala; they plan to take their show on the road, with additional performances scheduled at Colline Hotel in Mukono on October 12th, Maria Flo in Masaka on October 19th, and Adit Mall in Mbarara.
