Recently, the soft-spoken media personality has come into the spotlight due to disputes with her baby daddy, Suuna Ben, over property ownership and her past relationship with singer Opa Fambo.
The following story is based on interviews the trio has given to the media and comments from their friends during various media interactions.
Mary Nambwayo's parents passed away when she was very young, leaving her with only one sibling, a brother. Some reports also mention she has a grandmother. She hails from Wobulenzi in Katikamu sub-county, Luwero district.
Opa Fambo brought Mary Nambwayo from Luwero to Kampala. They grew up in the same neighbourhood, and their families were friends.
Fambo partly assisted Nambwayo in securing a job through his cousin, Fifi Da Queen, who was also working with Bukedde TV. At one point, Nambwayo, Suuna Ben, and Fambo lived in the same compound on Salaama Road.
Both employees of Bukedde, Suuna Ben and Mary Nambwayo used to share Ben's car to work. One day, as Fambo was coming home from work, he caught them kissing in the car at the gate while they were leaving.
Eventually, Nambwayo ended her relationship with Fambo and moved in with Ben.
Initially, Nambwayo was friends with Ben and kept his spare keys for his girlfriends when they visited. Thus, Opa Fambo never suspected she would cheat on him with Ben.
Nambwayo is now accused of colluding with Hajji Muhamad Kamoga of Kamoga Property Consultants to alter the titles of land Suuna Ben bought in Garuga to include her name as a co-owner.
Nambwayo has one child with Ben and is pregnant with another. In response, Suuna Ben has placed a caveat on the land to revert it to single ownership. The land, where he is already constructing a flat, is located in Garuga along Entebbe Road.
Mary Nambwayo maintains that Kamoga is merely a friend, contrary to reports suggesting he is her uncle, although they have grown very close.
Ben has insinuated that Mary has been shedding 'witch tears,' implying she might be involved in witchcraft.
Nambwayo counters that Ben was unaware of the property's location and claims she was the one who convinced him to acquire it.
She persuaded Kamoga to sell the land to Ben, who initially refused due to Ben's reputation. However, once she disclosed their relationship, Kamoga agreed. Mary asserts that the initial Shs5 million deposit for the land was her contribution.
They paid for the land in installments, and she was responsible for bringing the engineer to construct the house.
Mary Nambwayo and Suuna Ben have had several conversations since the incident began.
According to Mary, they usually reach an understanding, but Ben's stance changes after they part ways. She claims it was Suuna Ben who instructed her to collect the land title.
On Sunday, July 7, Mary began occupying the incomplete house, arriving at around 6 P.M. She refuted allegations that the house she was in had rent paid three months in advance.
According to her, the rent for their previous house was 550k, and Ben had only given her 500k, which had already been used up.
Mary Nambwayo has expressed her willingness to undergo DNA testing to confirm that her child is Ben's.
If Fambo continues to claim the child is his, she believes he should be arrested once the DNA test proves otherwise. Mary states she had the child a year after breaking up with Opa Fambo, with whom she no longer communicates.
Opa Fambo mentioned they started dating about six years ago and broke up around two years and three months ago. Some reports indicate they broke up in 2020, and the child was born in 2023.
Fambo claimed he tried to warn Ben about Mary's ways but was ignored.
Mary also revealed that a General in the army has promised to deploy security agents to protect her from anyone attempting to evict her from the house. She says she began dating Ben a year after breaking up with Fambo, whom she split with about four years ago.
In addition to her media career, Mary Nambwayo has coordinated media for several wealthy individuals in the entertainment and business sectors.
