He said he plans to take up a course in Public Relations at another university come, August 2023 when the new academic year opens.

I wanted to carry on my studies here at IUIU but they don't have that course. The good thing is that my score allows me into any other university in Uganda, so I am consulting with my team on which university to choose,” he said.

Asked what drove him to go back to school, he mentioned two reasons.

First, he wants "to be counted among the educated people.

“I am not studying to get a job; I am already a successful politician and a musician. But I want to be able to pull out my papers if someone asks what I studied.”

Second, the singer says this is part of his broader political ambitions.

He says in the near future, he sees himself serving in a high post in Government which would require higher credentials than he currently possesses.

Any time, Kyagulanyi will take this nation. What if he comes to me and offers me a cabinet position as Minister of Local Government? I need to be ready for that. This is me now preparing myself for that kind of opportunity."

In the 2021 elections, Walukagga was elected as the Mayor of Kyengera on the opposition National Unity Platform ticket.
