When Bussi was still in school, he used to tell Li, real name Ali Bukeni, to introduce him to the music industry.
However, Li couldn't do that because he had agreed with one of his parents not to introduce him to music. [In the video seen by this reporter, Li uses the reference of Mzee, so it's not clear whether he meant Bussi's father or mother. Bussi's father died in 2009 around the time Li had just started seeing Mutoni, so it's unlikely he had visited her parents already.]
"I remember when I used to go to Mzee's home and they would urge me to never introduce him to music until he completes senior six," said Nubian Li.
He said Bussi was relentless.
"And I would tell him to finish S.6 first like Mzee requested. And the moment he completed S.6, it's me who went and picked him the very day he finished exams."
Li praised Feffe Bussi: "Feffe, thanks for being a good person... He is my friend... I remember Feffe Bussi used to like Bobi Wine's songs... [When I introduced him to the industry], they liked him a lot. He is well-behaved. The industry embraced him."
Bussi met Nessim who collaborated with him on his first song at Fire Recordz while a protege of Tony Houls. The studio is owned by Bobi Wine, Nubian Li's longterm friend.
Born on December 9, 1993, Feffe Bussi -- whose real name is Frank Mukiiza, grew up in Nakulabye, Nabulagala, Kampala.
His first single titled Summertime, a collabo with Nessim, was released in 2013.
His breakthrough song came out in 2015 and it was a collabo with Sheebah Karungi titled Nsekula.
In 2016, he followed up with another banger titled Yes No and cemented his name in the Hip Hop world when he dropped Who is Who in 2018.
