Nyege Nyege festival set to kick off with launch party in Kampala

Talent Africa Group, in partnership with various supporters, is gearing up for the much-anticipated Nyege Nyege Launch Party on Friday, 4th October 2024. The pre-festival celebrations will be held at the scenic Safari Maze in Centenary Park, Kampala, with gates opening as early as 6:00 pm. This event serves as a precursor to the main festival, themed the “Afro-Galactic Carnival,” which is set to take place from 14th to 17th November 2024 at the Jinja Nile Resort-Bukaya in Njeru District. The organisers expect over 10,000 guests to attend this year’s festival.

Since its inception in 2015, Nyege Nyege has become a hallmark of artistic expression and cultural diversity in Uganda, drawing participants and performers from all over the world.

The festival has had a positive impact on various sectors of Uganda’s economy, including tourism, transport, hospitality, media, and entertainment. It has continued to exemplify how Ugandan community involvement, music, and artistic creativity can inspire both local and global audiences, fostering an inclusive cultural environment.

The pre-launch party in Kampala is expected to be a night filled with dynamic energy and captivating entertainment, highlighting African culture in a unique and festive manner. The party will showcase performances from a lineup of talented artists, including Creed, Madiya, Suda Culture, DJ Rocky, Aweko Brian, Hibotep, Reign Drops, Nasai, and Turkana. This celebration will be a taste of the vibrant atmosphere and diverse talent to be featured at the main Nyege Nyege festival.

The 2023 edition of the Nyege Nyege Festival was hosted on over 50 acres spanning three sites along the River Nile, including the Jinja Golf Course, the Source of the Nile, and the Jinja Showground. It attracted over 7,000 revelers, featured more than 7 stages, over 300 artists, and hundreds of exhibitions, showcasing a wide range of cultural and artistic experiences.

Tickets for the pre-launch event are currently available for purchase online through www.tagticketing.com or by using the USSD code 16595#. Early bird tickets are priced at UGX 10,000, while tickets at the gate will cost UGX 20,000. Additionally, attendees will have the opportunity to secure discounted Nyege Nyege tickets for the main event during the pre-launch party.

This announcement of the Nyege Nyege Launch Party comes shortly after Talent Africa Group began the early bird ticket sales for Madrat and Chiko’s 10th Anniversary celebrations, scheduled to take place on 8th October 2024 at the Kampala Sheraton Hotel.
