"Most of you didn't know about that because people around me protect my secrets," said Rema during a recent interview.
"And it wasn't just one year... it was about like two years..."
The Ngonze hitmaker moved in with Kenzo around 2013 when she severed ties with her then mentor Bebe Cool.
The 32-year-old diva had been under Cool's record label Gagamel as a backup singer.
Her departure from his crew even soured Cool's relationship with Kenzo though they have recently grown closer.
In 2022, Bebe Cool claimed that he had plans of turning her into the Ugandan version of Tiwa Savage.
"I had plans for her. I wanted to turn her into Tiwa Savage but she chose at weddings,” he said.
After leaving Gagamel Crew, Rema started working with Kenzo as a romantic partner and professional partner.
Their daughter, Aamal Musuza, was born on December 26, 2014.
When Rema left Kenzo to date Dr. Hamza Ssebunya, now her husband, the Sitya Loss singer was hurt so bad he even cried.
He recently confessed that it was like the rug had been pulled from under his feet.
"When I was seen crying, what drew tears out of me were family issues. A person I had been with for many years, whom I moved from one level to another, we helped each other, and that person is seen in videos... trying to send me back to the village. That thing pained me a lot because it reminds you of what you have been through, where you have come from and where you have reached,” Kenzo said.
“You ask yourself, why she is dealing with people she is known for two months to send me back to the village, and yet we have a child that will bind us together for life? That thing hurt me and drew tears out of me. But no one should deceive you that someone will say things that will draw tears out of me. You can't say anything that will scare me.”
Ssebunya and Rema have a daughter named Aaliyah Ssebunya.
