Rema: How I met Bebe Cool

Rema Namakula released her first hit while under Bebe Cool’s record label Gagamel Crew.

Born Rehemah Namakula, she teamed up with Cool, real name Moses Ssali, for Ceaze and Sekkle, which became an instant and she ended up dropping out of school to focus on her music career.

After completing S.6, Rema became a backup singer and one of the artistes she worked with was Halima Namakula, one of the most celebrated singers of her generation. It is Halima who introduced Rema to Bebe Cool.

Halima and Bebe have a song titled Sambagala and it was a huge hit when it was released.

According to Rema, she learnt the basics of studio from Halima Namakula’s No End Studios.

“She introduced me to Bebe Cool... she did a lot,” Rema said of Halima in an interview. “Because she had a studio: No End Studios"

Rema met a lot of other established artistes from Halima’s studio.
