Sasha Ferguson 'refused’ to shake Canary’s hand first time they met

The two who are now wife and husband first met in 2013 at WBS TV where Mugume had gone to apply for a job.

Ferguson was working with the station as a teen show host. While Canary Mugume didn’t get the job, he found love at the station. Incidentally, Next Media, his current employer, occupies the premises that used to host WBS TV.

"He had come to ask for a job,” Sasha Ferguson said while appearing on Sanyuka TV, speaking of the first time she met her husband. “He sat and looked at me...and I also looked at him wondering who it was... He was quiet."

Mugume later approached Ferguson who was with a friend to greet them.

"He came and greeted us and extended his hand to shake mine but I refused to shake it," she said.

When Anna Talia Oze who was interviewing her asked if she immediately liked him, she said she did but didn't want to make it easy for him 

Mugume would later inbox her via Facebook and the relationship continued from there.

Canary Mugume and Sasha Ferguson, born Fiona Nagirinya -- wedded on Saturday, September 18, 2021, at Miracle Center Cathedral, Rubaga where Pastor Joseph Kayanja officiated the service.

Ferguson said their wedding ceremony cost about Shs400 million.

"Our wedding cost about 400 million. When we were still young, my husband told me he would give me the wedding of my dreams, and that was around 2016," she said.

The couple in February welcomed their first child, a baby boy.
