Born Sharon Angela Salmon Nalukenge, she was then with Obsessions, a popular girls singing group at the time.
For a name to use in Big Brother Africa, she used the first letter of the group as the last name and she started being called Sharon O.
The reality TV series made it compulsory for every individual who joined to use a new name.
She was in the sixth season of the reality TV series. She revealed in a recent interview that she was paid "$10,000 for being a finalist."
When Crystal Newman interviewed her, she revealed that it was her father who convinced her to participate.
Crystal Newman asked: "Whose idea was it to go for Big Brother?"
Sharon O: "It was my dad's. Not even Ronnie [Mulindwa, her baby daddy]. Because Ronnie didn't even know about it in the first place..."
Crystal Newman: "But how did your dad, I mean...?"
Sharon: "I know... so, for some reason, you could think, you know, he is old-fashioned, but, you know, he knew these things. He was like, you know, I think, you should try out Big Brother... you have a shot [at] this. I was like, what?... I was like, okay, but you know I'm reserved... I'm a bit... I'm not a loud person so, you know, they want a loud character, so how am I gonna pull it off? He was like, Sharon, you need to go, you never know what this could do for you. But, yeah, here I am."
Sharon O finished in fifth place. She is now an actress and a businesswoman. One of her new projects is a record label named Black Horse Entertainment, which recently signed songstress Olah, real name Maria Viola Nakanjako.
