“I didn’t know about UMA until today when King Saha told me more. He has convinced me about his intentions, and I am throwing my weight behind him,” Sheebah reportedly said.
Singer Sheebah Karungi has come out in full support of King Saha for president of the Uganda Musicians Association (UMA).

Sheebah says Saha can do a lot for Uganda’s musicians, including protecting their intellectual property through the enforcement of the copyright law.
However, the real story behind the story of her support for Saha could be that he is going up against Cindy Sanyu, her longstanding rival.
The two singers have been at cross purposes for several years with Cindy saying Sheebah lacks talent while Sheebah dismisses Cindy as jealous of her success.
Sheebah and Cindy are such rivals that Sheebah reportedly claims she did not even know that Cindy is the outgoing President of UMA.
Still, that has not stopped her from remarking on Cindy as a do-nothing leader who has failed to deliver on behalf of her fellow musicians.
This is why, she reportedly said, she has shunned the association until recently when her close friend, Saha, explained to her what UMA does and convinced her to back him.
The Uganda Musicians Association (UMA) is licensed by the National Union of Creative Performing Artists and Allied Workers (NUCPAAW), to represent musicians, producers and artist managers.
UMA exists to protect, promote and preserve Ugandan music, and advocate for the interests of its members to the government, the music industry, the media and the public.
Mansour Ssemanda, popularly known as King Saha, is Cindy’s biggest rival to implement the mandate of the association.
The forthcoming elections are slated for today, Monday 11th April 2022, at the National Theatre.
