The Uganda National Musicians Federation (UNMF) on Tuesday had a heated meeting with city DJs, which was characterized by angry outbursts, accusations and counter-accusations about the working relationship between musicians and DJs.

Sheebah Karungi accused DJ Nimrod of disrespecting her during the UNMF meeting

In the meeting called to discuss and streamline the work of DJs and their collaboration with musicians, tempers flared as federation leaders led by President Eddy Kenzo tried to respond to the concerns raised by the DJs.

At some point near the close of the meeting, Federation Vice President Sheebah Karungi exchanged with DJ Nimrod, the meeting emcee, as he continuously interrupted her speech and asked her to take her seat.

Not having it, Sheebah told off the Galaxy FM DJ, demanding that he stops interrupting her and respects the Federation leadership.

I am the vice president here sir, have some respect. I am still talking, you keep interrupting me,” the ‘Muwomya’ singer fumed as she strutted toward Nimrod.

We have been here listening to you silently, you should also be quiet and listen to me.”

A stupefied Nimrod did not respond, allowing her to carry on with her presentation.

During the meeting which lasted a few hours, DJs raised concerns about mistreatment by musicians, with many narrating their own harrowing experiences of assault and nonpayment by some top musicians.

One of the Alan DJ, told the meeting that some of his colleagues had had their laptops smashed by artists.

Another DJ directly accused Sheebah of using her services and not paying him.

She apologized to him and promised to pay him all his money.

During the meeting the DJs elected a committee among themselves through which they will form an association that will join the Federation.
